Title: Apfel Im Schlafrock 1+ (Apples in Robes)

 2 cflour
 1 cbutter
 1 ccream cheese
 1 ea egg yolk
 3 lg apples (cooking apples, not
: hard variety) -- peeled
: & cored
 4 TB sugar
 1 ts cinnamon
1/4 craisins
1/4 calmonds -- slivered
: sauce-----
: equal parts
: vanilla ice cream
: whipped cream

Cut the butter and cream cheese into the flour. Work this into a smooth dough with the egg yolk and chill it.

Cut the cored and peeled apples into 3/8" round slices with the hole in the center. Mix 4 tablespoons sugar with the cinnamon. Roll out the dough on a floured board to 3/16ths of an inch thick and cut it into rounds a little larger than the apple slices with a glass or large cooky cutter. Place an apple slice on each round and fill the center with the sugar and cinnamon mixture. Mix the raisins and almonds with the remaining sugar and cinnamon, and pile it on top of the apple slices. Cover each apple slice with a second, larger round of dough and press the edges down well. Bake them on a buttered cooky sheet in a moderately hot over (375 degrees F.) for 15 minutes. Serve with a sauce made of equal parts of softened vanilla ice cream and whipped cream.
